guest trainer and panel member: dr. torbjorn larsson (website: www.paradiddle.us) (communication systems design) torbjorn larsson is the founder and president of paradiddle communications inc., a wireless systems consulting company in san diego. torbjorn has 25 years of experience in wireless systems engineering , during which he has worked with a multitude of wireless systems including phs, gsm/edge, is-136, cdma2000, wcdma, bluetooth, 802.11a/b/g, wimedia, s-ais and various other satellite and proprietary systems. he has also participated in several darpa programs, including nsc (novel satellite communications) and wann (wireless adaptive network node). torbjorn’s professional experience ranges from wireless interface design including modulation, coding and mimo schemes , to wireless modem development and radio transceiver specification. he has held various principal engineer, manager and director positions in the wireless industry in san diego and the bay area, including semiconductor industry, handset manufacturing and fabless ic companies. torbjorn is the author of 11 patents. he has been a wireless systems consultant since 2003, specializing in the design of software radio and methods for rapid development of dsp solutions for digital radio transceivers. torbjorn holds a ph.d. and an m.sc. degree in electrical engineering from chalmers technical university, göteborg, sweden.
